The mission of the Legal Aid Society is to pursue justice for people in poverty. They provide free legal services to the most disadvantaged in our community. They fight on your behalf when your health, safety, and stability are unjustly threatened. Last year, Legal Aid helped 3,964 people who had nowhere else to turn.
Each year, the Legal Aid Society represents thousands of individuals or groups with incomes at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Because the need is so great, Legal Aid has established the following service priorities:
- Support for Families,
- Preserving the Home,
- Maintaining Economic Stability,
- Safety, Stability and Heath, and
- Populations with Special Vulnerabilities.
