Jefferson County, Kentucky to Receive Funding from the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program

Jefferson County, KY will receive a total of $321,601 in federal funding from the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. Funds can be used to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in Jefferson County.

A local board will review applications and make recommendations to the National Board.

Eligible applicants must:

  1. Be a private nonprofit or unit of government with UEI number;
  2. Be eligible to receive federal funds;
  3. Have an accounting system and separate organizational bank account;
  4. Practice nondiscrimination;
  5. Have demonstrated capacity to deliver emergency food and/or shelter services; and
  6. If a nonprofit, have a voluntary board.
