Bourbon Mixer (8/17)

Bourbon Mixer to Return August 17th with Havana Nights Theme
Fundraiser will Benefit for the Coalition for the Homeless

Louisville, Kentucky (June 13, 2019) – Two of Louisville’s most spirited social groups, the Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood, will once again come together to host the 6th Annual Bourbon Mixer, presented by Splash Analytics, on August 17th from 6:30pm-10:30pm at The Henry Clay.

Early bird tickets are available at www.BourbonMixer.com for $75 in June and $100 in July, then go up to $125 in August. All proceeds will benefit the Coalition for the Homeless and its efforts to prevent and end homelessness in our city.

This year’s event is themed “Havana Nights” and will feature festive Cuban style cocktails, but replacing the rum with fine Kentucky Bourbon. More than 20 distilleries will participate by offering tastings of unique bourbons, bourbon cocktails, and bourbon-infused treats.

Attendees will also enjoy live entertainment by 6-piece Latin jazz band Hermanos, Cuban cuisine, a silent auction with one-of-a-kind bourbon experiences and rare bottles of whisky, and the opportunity to mingle with other bourbon enthusiasts, Master Distillers and other bourbon celebrities. Beer and wine will also be served.

In its first five years, the Bourbon Mixer raised nearly $120,000 in total for various local charities. The event is the brainchild of Linda Ruffenach and Bruce Corwin, founders of the local social groups Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood. The Whisky Chicks create and share a variety of unique bourbon experiences in a relaxed social environment. The Bourbon Brotherhood meets monthly to indulge in bourbon and camaraderie. Both groups aspire to help members develop an appreciation of the taste and tradition of the Kentucky’s native spirit in the company of fellow bourbon lovers.
