Because everything is donated, 100% of the proceeds go to supporting the Coalition’s collaborative initiatives to maintain an end for veteran homelessness and to end chronic homelessness in Louisville–which, by the way, have been remarkably successful: chronic homelessness has dropped by 50% since 2011, and nearly every single identified homeless veteran has been provided with resources and housing this year.
As in the past, there are many ways to get involved!
We have over 30 musicians performing in 10 bands (all of whom are donating their time to perform for this great cause). Here’s the tentative line-up! Please note that this is subject to change.
6:25 Will King (of Tony and the Tan Lines and 64West)
6:50 Justin Paul Lewis
7:15 Tyrone Cotton Band
7:40 Small Time Napoleon
8:05 Cheyenne Mize
8:30 Joan Shelley & Nathan Salsburg
9:05 Bonnie Prince Billy
9:30 Bibelhauser Brothers with Steve Cooley (of Hog Operation) and Dave Howard (of Relic and 23 String Band)
10:00 Appalatin
The list of participating restaurants includes Jack Fry’s, Havana Rumba, Cafe Lou Lou, Volare, Lilly’s, Shady Lane Cafe, and Cheddar Box Cafe! We also have dinner rolls from Panera Bread again this year.
2) Volunteer. Give-A-Jam relies heavily on volunteers to be a success. To see volunteer opportunities and to sign up, click here. Not only will you be contributing to our efforts to end homelessness, but you’ll also get free entry to the event and a Give-A-Jam t-shirt.
3) Donate an auction item or a dessert. We are still seeking great auction items, and we’ll also need baked goods for dessert! If you can contribute either, contact Natalie Harris or Catherine McGeeney to sign up and coordinate dropping off the items.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, December 17 to help us end homelessness for our veterans and the chronically homeless! Contact Catherine with any other questions.
